Mrs. Martchenke forgot to send home the poetry and sayings books with the children. This afternoon they will be in the office area if you want to pick them up. Norma Blank

Last days of school are and always have been very difficult for me. Summer vacations are so wonderful - a time with family, enjoying warmer weather, and the outdoors, but it is difficult to say good-by to the children. I know that was true for Mrs. Martchenke also. She came in the classroom this morning to give a special farewell to her class and give them a little bag of goodies. There was very little free time this morning - there was an awards assembly with a very small break and then came our closing Chapel service which went till almost 11:30. I'm sorry you had to wait for the children so long. I had some things to say to each one. Did they show you the little remembrance I made for them - our "ta-dah" photo and our "Serve one another in love" picture? I will attach 2 photos - one of the class with me and one with my husband, Hank (Mr. Blank). He really enjoyed teaching them social studies (the 13 colonies and science (astronomy). Now I will be working on report cards. I saw growth in your children during the 2 and 1/2 months I was with them. I pray for their continued growth, not just in academics, but also in good ethical and caring ways. I thank you for your kind words and remembrances as this school year has come to a close. God bless your families in His wonderful ways. In His love, Norma BlankPosted by Mrs. Blank

Your children are coming home heavy laden with the contents of their desks. But there still is school tomorrow, although it is a half day with dismissal at 11:30. We had a wonderful assembly this morning - The Percussion Discussion. The kiddos enjoyed it so much - please ask them to tell you about it. Miss Ellis came in the room today to help with all the packing up. She gave each of the children a little gift because she has grown to care for them so much. She has been such a blessing to your children. I know she would be so happy to see them at Vacation Bible School this summer here at Calvary. Posted by Mrs. Blank
I just got an email from the Lutheran District Office in Livermore (Northern California-Nevada-Hawaii District) It goes to all the pastors and teachers of Lutheran churches and schools and also to those who are interested in the happenings of the district. I told your kiddos the story of how somehow the swim photos accidentally got sent to the district when I was e-mailing them to Doug Henry. The district e-mailed me back wanting more information - I explained the mistake, but they still wanted the information so we ended up all over the place on this e-news that comes out weekly. So I promised the kiddos I would forward this to them when it arrived. Please let them see it if you have time. Some of the children gave me their e-mail addresses and so I will see if they wrote them down correctly. Click HERE to see the article.
I will also miss your children - it is hard to believe that our last day is tomorrow. I thank the Lord for the time I got to spend with your children. They are all so special in their own individual ways. May God continue to give parents and teachers the wisdom in bringing up these wonderful children in wonderful ways. Your kiddos had a great time today thanks to the efforts of Mr. Souza and Ms. Hackerd (photos on the Calvary website...). But I am also quite sure they will be very exhausted tonight - I am. They received their yearbooks today and got to sign each others. We had a special guest today - Ms. Blair - who will be their 4th grade teacher next year. Most of you had a chance to meet her after school - the children enjoyed her being in the classroom so much which will most certainly help them in August when they return to school. We did do one Weekly Reader which had interesting information - check it out. Tomorrow they will be bringing lots of their items home - please be sure they have their backpacks. Tomorrow is the last whole day - Wednesday is a half day with awards at 9:00 and Chapel towards the end of the day - I'll have to check the time. Love in Jesus from Norma BlankPosted by Mrs. Blank
