Eprayer Updates

Wednesday night up-date: Jim was moved out of ICU and now shares a room with another guy, has a bathroom (but can't take a shower yet), phone (but we couldn't find it when it was ringing...it was in a drawer), we do "walk abouts" around the unit's circle, he still tires easily but was up most of the day. He likes to be able to move. His body needs to get use to the warfarin and then he can come home...hopefully tomorrow. I might have to give him a shot in his stomach for a couple days but not sure the doc will let me (I did give shots to horses, goats, cats and dogs...can't be much different :) His hair is a grease mess. I tried dry shampoo but didn't do much so after giving him a sponge bath, I put baby powder all over him and in his hair. He smelled nice and felt better. Helped a little with the hair. He loved all the Get Well Cards. So sweet and some really good artists at Calvary. Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes. Pray he gets to come home tomorrow.

Jim's results...originally he had a 100% clogged front artery that leads to his lower heart and they were able to put in a stent and also remove a blood clot. His lower and upper heart aren't in sync right now but they hope it will correct itself. They are worried about blood clots forming, so he will be on 2 aspirin, plavex, and warfarin for a couple months with many blood tests. He has to stay in the hospital one or two more days til his body gets use to regulate the warfarin. He will be moved to the cardiac unit tomorrow and will come home maybe Thursday. He still tires easily so visiting is limited. The docotrs are pleased and Jim is in good spirits. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes.

Hi all, we would like to thank everyone for their prayers and for the wonderful prayer quilt. Jim took it with him when they wheeled him away for testing at 3pm today.
Jim is feeling better, eating, sitting for a little today, still a little chest pain, is being tested now to see how much heart damage has been done, tires easily but is in good spirits. I will write more tonight after we get the results of the test. Keep praying for full recovery and not much heart damage. So happy we went in to have him checked out. Really a shocker!

Pray for my Uncle Jim Gale who was rear ended by a drunk driver and is now paralyzed from the neck down. Prayers for family and his wife Aunt Ramona.

Just received word that Pastor did have a major heart attack, is in ICU and resting comfortably. Doctors seem to think he is out of the woods. Family is by his side. Pray for patience as he heals and wisdom as the doctors do further testing.

Prayers of thanksgiving and also for comfort for the Blank family - Norma's Mom was taken to her heavenly home this morning and is in the loving arms of her/our Savior.

Prayers of healing and comfort for Pastor Bothwell. He is in Marin, Kaiser - he had a heart attack. We are still waiting on details on the extent of it.

Please Pray for Tom Schneider as an infection was detected in the foot he recently had surgery on and they had to cut more of the bone off to remove the infected part. Keep Judy in Prayer as well as she is very concerned at what seems to be never ending for Tom.

Dear Friend and Prayer Partner,

I will travel to Bangkok, Thailand May 23-24, for community development meetings on the 25th-27th with Language Education and Development (LEAD) Asia. I leave Bangkok on the 28th and return to Dallas on the 29th. Please pray:

-for travel mercies during the two long plane flights Dallas>Tokyo>Bangkok and Bangkok>San Francisco>Dallas.

-for productive meetings on how to help people improve their lives both spiritually and physically.

-that I might make some good contacts.

-that I will be able to recover quickly from the jet lag on the return and finish my Language Program Design and Management class on June 3rd. I have several work sessions scheduled here in Dallas until July 1st and hope to return to California on July 3rd.

Praise God my cousin Janet had her surgery yesterday. All went well. Spent a little more time than expected in recovery because she had an issue with nausea due to the anesthetic. Reported no pain this morning and feeling fine. Janet is to take it easy today, and after Five weeks to recover from the surgery will have Six weeks of Radiation. Thank you all for your continuing prayers for full healing and blessings from God.

I would like to thank everyone who has been praying for me these past several days and to let you all know that they have definitely been working. Even after a weekend of blood thinner, the artery became clogged again and it was looking like open-heart surgery was the only course left. However, the decided to use a laser and were bale to clear enough of the "gunk" form the srtery wall that they could then out in the stents, 4 of them. As of non on Tuesday, I am now resting comfortably at home. I do have to go back in in 4-6 weeks to have a couple additional stents put in some other arteries, but they are not in as bad of condition as the one they worked on yesterday.

Thank you too too all of the ladies who work so hard at the Prayer Quilt Ministry, you all do a fantastic job. I received numerous comments about the quilty and it always nice to have the opportunity to explainf the ministry.

Thanks once again for all of your prayers and for your continued prayers over the next few weeks of healing and new stents.

Prayers of healing for Lynne Jackson's (school family) mom, Lorraine. She is 92 years old and fell and ruptured her bowel. Pray for complete healing and no complications.

Praise God! The doctors were able to clear the blockage (with a laser), and put in several shunts and the blood is flowing freely. Steve will probably be able to return home tomorrow - he has a few more arteries that will need angioplasty (Not completely blocked) in a few weeks. The doctor was estatic at the success!

Continued prayers for Steve Ellis as he will have more testing done on Monday. Pray that the procedures will clear the blockage and the clots so that surgery or further treatments will not be necessary.

Also, continued prayers for the Dick Deckert family as they prepare for his service at Chapel of the Chimes on Thursday at 1pm.

Steve Ellis had an angiogram (not plasty) and they were not able to break the blockage. He also has several blood clots and they are administering thinners to help lessen them. He will have another angiogram on Monday in the hope they can remove the blockage and break the clots. Please pray for all of this to happen.

Prayers for Tom Adams that he would be delivered from his cancer. And for wife, Carol, and family as they wait the Lord's mercy.

Prayers for Steve Ellis, who is in Summit, Oakland, following a heart attack. His main artery is 100% blocked and they are going to do angioplasty tomorrow. He is resting and waiting, Annie is with him for the night. Please pray for the procedures to have their desired effect and for complete healing and recovery to occur.

Prayers of continued comfort to the Dick Deckert family at his passing yesterday. His service will be at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward at 1:00pm on Thursday.

Prayers also for Carol Liston's mother, Velma Sprehe, who is in a nursing home and is not doing well. Prayers for strength and peace for her and fo the rest of the family during this illness.

Dick Deckert passed away at Washington Hospital around 12 noon today. He is finally released from all of the recent health problems he has experienced for the last several years and the last few months in particular. Please pray for Van that God would provide him with comfort at the loss of his dad.

Praise God - Aletha Jensen's cat scan came back normal - she is being sent home from hospital - continue prayers for strength.

Just received a call that Aletha Jensen was on an outing with Baywood and collapsed into unconsciousness. She has been taken to Valley in Livermore. Pray for her and family in this uncertainty that it is not serious or life threatening.

Please keep Paul Hoffman Jr. in your prayers. He had a biopsy yesterday and is scheduled for surgery on May 11, the extent of the surgery will be determined by the results of the biopsy.

Also, prayersof healing for Bonnie, a client of Tami Hoffman who had a brain hemorrhage and is now in a coma.

Prayers of thanksgiving that Mr. Fred Brauer has accepted our call to become the principal at Calvary. He will be joining sometime after the 6th of June. Pray for a smooth transition for him and his family.

Prayers of comfort for our 4th grade teacher, Bethany Blair, at the passing of her grandmother last night. She is also the aunt of Marjorie Luehrs.

Prayers of healing for Abby Einspahr's godmother (infection) and niece who is facing surgery on her ear; for Kristi Morlock's uncle, Dan, who is hospitalized, and for Vanessa Nishwitz who is recovering from being hospitalized.
